My guitar is finished now but i ran out of batteries for our digital camera, i'll post more pics soon !

Fantastic job! Can't wait to see more of this one. By the way, it looks like you didn't do an end wedge. Usually this is done before binding, so will you do some sort of inlay? Anyway keep up the good work, and nice binding jig too! Tracy |

Hi bruce, your right it's oak ply for top and back and cedar ply for sides. Hi Lance, your wrong, it looks like purple heart but it's aromatized red cedar bindings with some sort of black plastic purf that i had to remove cause i didn't have the right technique to install it . Gotcha! Hi Mr tl507362, thanks for your kind words, i did put a wedge afterwards and it was a pain in the @#$%^&, i'm saving the rest for later so you guys can have a good laugh or a reminder of how it can go so wrong . Serge, Great Job! And you know, this one will always have a special place in your heart. The memories of what you went through to accomplish the building of this guitar will haunt you and thrill you at the same time. What a learning experience, huh?

Thanks Doug, YES INDEED!!! just came back from the store, got me some batteries for the camera, i'll be back later on with more pics and explainin' on my loud thing! and maybe pics of my bandsaw building!!!! ha! ha! |

Thanks Bill, here are a few more shots 
her it is, my BABY! 
The plastic purfling had to be removed so i found some kind os shiny beads that i inserted with epoxy instead. 
As you can see, my neck is a little offset! 
My attempt at building a bandsaw, amazing what you can do with pillow block bearings! 
My faithful drum sander, really proud of that one! 
And finally my side bending jig and my second mould for guitar no 2. Yes that's a kettle that you see in my side bending jig! |

A threaded rod to raise or lower the table that is swingin' on a cross bar at the higher end.

BTW, don't worry, my kettle was a good idea for bending plywood and inexpensive but i'll follow Mario's advice for hardwoods and build a second bending machine using 3-200 watts each lightbulbs unless somebody here would have a spare heating blanket to sell to a newbie for a fair price! |

This is my Baby, This story is intended for everyone but first timers in particular. My first build is a very humble one. When i started her, i had only 3 years of woodworking skills, a bit of my father's tools and the internet to look for information on how to build. If it would not have been for Mario and Kathy and others, i could not have done this. So with little money, i feel i did a little miracle. Sure my guitar looks a bit crafty but that's not what i was aiming at for the first one. My aim was to have a guitar that sounded loud, so i went and bought my first sheet of plywood and recuperated old furniture that people had thrown away. So my neck is maple from an old dresser and my fretboard is oak from an old rocking chair and so is my bridge. The reason why i'm writing this is to let first timers know that if there is a will, there is a way and please do not let any fears stop you from your dreams, cuz even with a humble build like mine, when you string it up for the first time and you hear what you have expected for many weeks and months, Man, what a gift!
